A Dragons’ Den participant gained ‘new clients’ after grilling Steven Bartlett on the BBC show.
Viewers praised budding entrepreneur Lottie Whyte, who proposed a sports rehabilitation firm with husband Joe Grey on the long-running show, for exposing the Diary of a CEO podcast founder as ‘out of touch’.
Steven, 31, was unimpressed after learning about Myo Master’s product line, which included massage guns, compression boots and CBD muscle and joint balm.
The business magnate remarked that the sports health sector was oversaturated and that he was sent complimentary massage guns ‘all the time’ by publicists, prompting Lottie to correct him.
‘With all due respect you’re not our core customer,’ she responded, alluding to Steven’s vast wealth and showbusiness career.
Fans were loving her dressing down of Steven and even the BBC agreed, sharing the clip on TikTok with the caption: ‘The BEST shut down in Dragons’ history?’
Alexa Santiago was among those sharing their take in the comments section on TikTok, pointing out Steven’s ‘we are not amused’ facial reaction after Lottie’s clap back: ‘The way he was absolutely seething. I love her.’
Implying that Steven may have lost touch with reality just a tad, Nate remarked: ‘When you have to remind rich people that normal people don’t receive PR.’
Agreeing, Ritzy Coco added: ‘Bartlett is SO out of touch with the real world.’
Others pledged to stock up on Myo Master’s goods after the retort, with Dani affirming: ‘She just gained a new customer in me.’
Referring to Ellen DeGeneres complaining to guest Dakota Johnson that she hadn’t been invited to the Madame Web star’s birthday, only to be corrected, TikTok account Bdandi06 remarked: ‘Gives the same vibe as “actually Ellen that’s not true”.’
After Lottie and Joe shared their business proposal, Steven responded: ‘I’ve been sent so many massage guns like this, that kind of look quite similar from so many different brands. And that for me is a real kind of threat to this business over the long term.
‘I’ve seen all of this before. And what I said at the start of this is, these massage guns, they send me this stuff all the time and it’s just piling up in my house.’
Lottie, on the other hand, remained calm and put Steven in his place, causing the other judges to giggle.
She said: ‘With all due respect, you’re not our core customer to be honest. Our core customer isn’t getting sent free Therabodies.
‘They’re people who love sport – they love running, they go to Parkrun, they sign up for 10k runs. We meet thousands and thousands of them.’
Guest judge Gary Neville then joined in and agreed with Lottie, calling it a ‘excellent point’, leaving Steven humiliated and at a loss for words.
The former player ultimately decided to take the plunge and invest £50,000 in their company, joining Sara Davies, who paid the same amount for a 5% stake.
Lottie and Joe revealed that they founded Myo Master after Joe had a series of injuries that ended his rugby career.
Dragons’ Den continues on Thursday (March 7) at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
