Although the queen is accustomed to crushing her rivals on the runway, when she faces the Doctor, she’ll be giving a fresh foe a fight for their money.
The long-running sci-fi show’s forthcoming 14th season will include a number of stars, including the drag queen who won the fifth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race in 2013 and was named earlier this month.
Although we are yet unsure of the exact role she will be playing or even the name of her character, BBC has provided a sneak preview of her in costume.
She is sporting a piano-inspired ensemble that includes a vest and collar with key designs, as well as a long, eye-catching cloak in black and sparkling.
In a striking up-do reminiscent of Bette Midler’s in the 1993 movie Hocus Pocus, she has fashioned her trademark orange hair. The 31-year-old singer assisted with some of his medical expenses.

The queen posted a picture and a video of herself acting out her new role, with the latter showing her tease the audience.
‘I’m Jinkx Monsoon and this is my costume for Doctor Who,’ she said while laughing at the camera.
All the BBC would give away was mentioned in the caption, which read: ‘Jinkx Monsoon has landed and started filming for Doctor Who and here is the first look image of her in character…as the Doctor’s most powerful enemy yet!’
Naturally, both teasers received a lot of attention. Drag Race judge Michelle Visage, for instance, put an emoji with heart eyes on one post.
Jinkx looked “so amazing,” according to several, while the show had “levelled up,” according to another.
‘This might make me start watching Doctor Who again,’ another wrote.
Someone else added that the ‘yassification of Doctor Who can’t come soon enough’.
Others began speculating that Jinkx would be portraying a musical villain based on the specifics of her attire and the fact that she has extensive musical theatre background, having previously been in productions of Chicago, Rent, and Hairspray.
Russell T. Davies, the show’s creator, stated in his casting announcement that her character will be on “a collision course with the TARDIS.”
‘I’m honoured, thrilled, and utterly excited to join Doctor Who,’ Jinkx said at the time.
‘Russell is a visionary and a brilliant writer. I can’t wait to get into the weeds with him and the crew! I hope there’s room in the TARDIS for my luggage.’
Ncuti Gatwa, who already joined the forthcoming season as the Fifteenth Doctor, will feature with Jinkx.
As his friend Ruby Sunday, Millie Gibson will also appear in the film.
Doctor Who is streaming on BBC iPlayer.
