Denise Welch fought back her tears as Loose Women paid tribute to her late dad Vin Welch after his death in September aged 84.
The TV star returned to the ITV daytime show on Monday weeks after her beloved dad died following several health issues, including pulmonary fibrosis, and she was overcome with emotion after producers aired a video in his memory.
Vin had appeared on the show a number of times over the years, and they remembered the late ‘legend’ with clips of him wearing a wedding dress as well as videos of him in the audience and from social media.
As she started to cry, a visibly emotional Denise said: ‘I was lucky to have him for 63 years… Lincoln loved him like a dad, you know, but we’re very lucky that we are from such a close family… Thank for that tribute, to the producers, because it really means a lot.’
Before the tribute aired, the 63-year-old star admitted her dad was a huge fan of the programme and she added her fellow presenters were a big part of his amazing life.
‘You girls have been part of that life lived,’ she said. ‘He loved this show.’
