A tough skate-off has removed another pair from Dancing On Ice.
Last week, judges Oti Mabuse, Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, and guest panellist Johnny Weir sent EastEnders actor Ricky Norwood and his professional partner Annette Dytrt home in a contentious decision.
Eddie the Eagle and Vicky Ogden have joined them.
In the bottom two, they faced Amber Davies from Love Island and her professional partner Simon Senecal.
However, Amber and Simon, who also competed in the skate-off last week, advanced to the semi-finals.
Following Eddie and Vicky’s beautiful performance of Sir Elton John’s Rocket Man, Amber and Simon did a passionate rendition of Little Mix’s Power.
Judge Oti voted to keep Eddie, but guest judges Johnny and Jayne supported Amber.
As the vote was split, it came down to head judge Chris, who chose to keep Amber and send Eddie packing.
Eddie’s skating partner Vicky described him as ‘wonderful to skate with’ as she reflected on their time together.
‘He’s just legendary. I watch him, even on his own going out doing his edges, he’s incredible to work around,’ she said.
Host Stephen Mulhern also described him as ‘one of the nicest guys’ he has ever met.
It’s safe to say viewers were not impressed with the outcome, taking to X to vent their frustrations.
‘So the skate off is a waste of time. You put through your favorites regardless of performance. Eddie did way more skating on his own, did turns and lifts etc… but maybe just not as popular. #fix’, wrote UtvVtid.
‘An absolute disgrace Amber was told to skate on her own, she did for all of 20 seconds. Eddie skates on his own all the time so they send him home. Eddie was far better in the dance off’, wrote charters65.
‘Eddie you were robbed of your semi-final place’, blazed EmmaPat53196832, adding: ‘What a joke! Even Amber thought Eddie was going through.’
LaskeyAndy called the result ‘an absolute farce’ while mistermemoryman predicted Amber will be eliminated next week.
The judges make no sense in the skate offs. Eddie did more solo skating than Amber but he gets voted off. Really?? #Dancingonice

Prior to Eddie’s dramatic dismissal, he dismissed claims that his athletic experience would benefit him on Dancing on Ice.
The ski jumper acknowledged that he was a ‘really, really bad skater’.
Eddie – who competed for Great Britain at the Winter Olympics in 1988 – said: ‘There’s a lot of pressure now that everybody thinks I’m going to be a really, really good skater.
‘I’m a really, really bad skater at the moment. It’s a completely different sport.
‘When I ski, I automatically get myself into a certain stance. That stance is not a good stance for skating, which is why I keep falling on my face, because I’m used to arching my back and going forwards.’
Eddie also said that he has gotten less competitive with time.
The former sports hero, who was the subject of Eddie the Eagle, a biographical drama film, in 2016, acknowledged that he only wanted to ‘have fun’ on the show.
He explained: ‘I used to be very competitive but, probably over the last 20 years, I’m just not competitive anymore – nowhere near like I used to be. I just go out and enjoy it and have fun doing things.’
Unfortunately for the celebrity, he has now joined the already evicted stars in DOI 2024.
Musicals Week eliminated both Emmerdale’s Roxy Shahidi and comedian Lou Sanders.
Last week, Claire Sweeney from Coronation Street and her pro skater partner Colin Grafton were voted in.
S Club’s Hannah Spearritt and Andy Buchanan were ousted the week before, while boxing great Ricky Hatton and partner Robin Johnstone were the first to be voted out of the ITV competition.
Dancing On Ice airs Sundays on ITV1 and ITVX.
