Dancing On Ice will reportedly be welcoming former Strictly Come Dancing head judge Dame Arlene Phillips to the panel as a guest judge, in the weeks to come.
The ITV series has had a slightly shaky start, with both Kye Whyte and Rachel Stevens battling injuries and Bez and Phillip Schofield contracting Covid.
But the popular show remains a hit after new judging addition Oti Mabuse has gone down a storm with fans.
Now, it’s thought another legendary Strictly star will soon get the chance to join the panel.
The Sun reports Dame Arlene, 77, will take up a guest role on the series, alongside panellists Oti, Ashley Banjo, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.
A source told the publication: ‘ITV has been keen to get Arlene on board and have been talking to her for months about her guest slot on the show.
‘She has decades of dance experience under her belt which producers wanted to draw on and enhance the panel even further.
‘Plus, audiences will be thrilled to see her back judging on primetime TV, just as she once was on Strictly.’
Dame Arlene was one of the names initially speculated to replace John Barrowman on the series before Oti’s appointment was confirmed.
The choreographer – who recently appeared on I’m A Celebrity – was a head judge on the long-running BBC series between 2004 and 2008.
Her Strictly exit drew much backlash at the time after she was replaced by Alesha Dixon, who was just 30 at the time.
The BBC received more than 1,350 complaints, most of which were accusing the broadcaster of ageism.
If she does indeed take up a guest role on the panel, she’ll be reunited with former Strictly pro dancer Brendan Cole, who is a favourite to win the competition this year.
Dancing On Ice continues on Sunday at 6.30pm on ITV.
