Craig Revel Horwood has raised the possibility of both Bruno Tonioli and Anton Du Beke judging on Strictly’s 2022 series – and we’d be so here for it.
Fans have been awaiting the news of this year’s Strictly Come Dancing panel after the pro dancer line-up was confirmed just days ago.
Bruno hasn’t been seen on the panel in person since 2019, as he was forced to remain in the US due to the Covid pandemic and commitments to Dancing With The Stars.
Anton officially took over from the Italian dancer, 66, in 2021, but it’s not yet known whether either judge will be returning for 2022.
But chatting to Woman magazine on whether Bruno could finally return, Craig shared: ‘I honestly don’t know.
He has now suggested that the TV show could accommodate five judges, without the need to dump Anton or Bruno.
‘I hope Anton’s coming back because I think he’s really good but I’d love Bruno to be there, too, and I do think there’s a place for him,’ he added.
Head judge Shirley Ballas has already brought up the possibility of a larger panel, which could mean contestants could earn up to 50 points per performance.
She previously told The Mirror: ‘I hope Anton stays, but we could have five seats.
‘I just did the tour with Bruno and he was on point and on form. There is nobody like Bruno. He is a force to be reckoned with!’
It comes after Craig seemed to confirm Anton would be returning after the latter was missing from the pro dancer line-up once again.
‘I think last year he did a great job on Strictly as a judge. And we have just found out he is going to do it again this year,’ he told The Sun.
Metro.co.uk understands the judging line-up is yet to be decided.
Anton originally stepped in back in 2020 when Motsi Mabuse was forced to return home to Germany during the pandemic.
When Bruno had to remain in the US again in 2021, Anton was confirmed as a full-time judge in his place.
It comes after dancers Aljaž Škorjanec and Oti Mabuse confirmed their departures from the series, with the rest of last year’s pro dancers set to return for more.
