Selling Sunset star Christine Quinn has spoken about how ‘hurt’ she felt after hearing one of her co-stars make a comment about her becoming a mother, saying she was ‘shocked and surprised’.
On today’s This Morning, real estate agent and reality TV star Christine appeared via video chat from Los Angeles to speak to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
The pair began their interview by congratulating Christine on her pregnancy, after it was announced last month that she and her husband Christian Richard are expecting their first child together.
After discussing her excitement about having a baby, Phillip referenced a comment a fellow Selling Sunset cast member made about Christine, when they remarked that they ‘hope motherhood makes her softer’.
In response, Christine said: ‘Yeah, that’s one of those comments that really hurt my feelings.’
‘I was really shocked to hear that through the press,’ she stated.
‘You know, it is what it is and I hate when people shelter themselves behind the press, you know. Say those things to my face – but they never will. So I was just really hurt and shocked and surprised.’
Christine added that becoming a mother is a ‘huge milestone in my life’ and ‘something that I’m so excited about’.
‘I mean motherhood is just such a special thing. So for me, it was hurtful to read that more than anything,’ she said.
Phillip added that ‘hopefully’ the comment was ‘just said for effect, ‘cause you’ll be an amazing mum’, prompting Christine to beam and say ‘thank you’.
Last month, US Weekly published an interview with Selling Sunset star Heather Rae Young in which she said of Christine: ‘I’m thinking motherhood will soften her a little bit.’
Heather added that she and Christine had a friendly catch-up when she reached out to her to congratulate her on her pregnancy.
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
