Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen has spoken out about the upcoming Changing Rooms reboot – and revealed that none of the original cast will be returning.
The flamboyant host – known for his love of bright colours in his interior design – was announced to be returning to the makeover favourite, with Davina McCall replacing Carol Smilie as host.
However, questions about whether old faces such as DIY expert Handy Andy, and designer Linda Barker, remained in question.
But speaking on This Morning, Laurence cleared things up – and none of them are coming back, with an entirely new cast being brought in to decorate the public’s homes.
Speaking about the changes, he continued: ‘There’s going to be an enormous amounts of colour, and I think Davina is absolutely right for this.
‘She always reminds me of salted caramel, you know, a little bit spiky but a little bit sweet at the same time.’
The new Changing Rooms was confirmed at the beginning of October, moving over from the BBC to Channel 4.
Laurence, with an unmatched flair for florals and bold patterns, is back as a head designer, but other castmates are yet to be announced.
Linda Barker, who is famed for the ‘teapot disaster’ during the show in 2000, gave the series her approval shortly after the announcement was made
‘I think it’s fantastic, it’s perfect timing,’ she said on BBC Radio 4.
‘We’re all starting to think about decorating, we’ve all been holed up in our houses for far too long, looking at our walls… And decorating is on many people’s agenda.
‘I think it’s really thrilling, I’m really excited for the programme.’
It’s expected the show will return in early 2021.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
