Two children’s television stars have reunited over two decades after their renowned programme ended, causing the internet to go crazy.
Kim Tserkezie, 50, uploaded a photo of herself and her former X co-star Miles Jupp, 44, who played Penny Pocket and inventor Archie on the CBeebies sitcom Balamory.
The actress and producer captioned the post: ‘I adore this man so much! Joyous to catch up with the fabulous Miles Jupp. He’s on tour at the mo! Go see him if you can!’
The reunion delighted fans of Balamory on X, with Irene M Blair raving: ‘Lovely to see your 2 smiling faces this morning. Love and big hugs to you both xxx.’
‘That is awesome, Kim! I always wish you the best,’ Noah Baigent added.
Former Balamory cast member Andrew Agnew, who portrayed PC Plum, recently expressed nostalgia for his time on the programme on social media.
The actor shared an unseen shot of the cast from their first day of filming outside the colourfully painted eatery The Mishnish.
The 47-year-old embraced Miles and Kim, as well as Julie Wilson Nimmo (Miss Hoolie), Juliet Cadzow (Edie McCredie), Rodd Christensen (Spencer The Painter), and the late Mary Riggans (Suzie Sweet).
The shot also features Buki Akib, an actress turned fashion designer who portrayed Josie Jump in the show’s early seasons before being replaced by Kasia Haddad.
The caption on the throwback snap was: ‘Were we ever that young? This is the #Balamory gang outside the The Mish Nish in #Tobermory during our first visit, while filming in 2002. So great to see us all together out of costume. Always smiling #pcplum. I’m sure we went straight into that pub after this photo was taken’ signing off with a laughing emoji.’
Kim, meanwhile, has also previously teased more Balamory reunions.
Last year, she told Chronicle Live: ‘We don’t see each other as much as we would like because we are all dotted around the country and in the States but we have always stayed in touch.
‘I have been speaking to Juliet Cadzow, who plays Edie McCredie, and she was saying, “why don’t we have a reunion and all come to Newcastle?” Can you imagine how much fun that would be bringing everyone to Newcastle? I am totally up for that.’
Set on a fictional island off the west coast of Scotland, the live-action series chronicled the lives of eight core people, each of whom wore a particular hue of clothes and lived in a home of the same colour.
Balamory aired for four seasons on the network from 2002 to 2005 and was known for its music, especially the title song What’s the Story in Balamory?
