Cardi B teaming up with Mike Myers and Dana Carvey for a Wayne’s World-themed Super Bowl advert is the collaboration we never knew we needed.
The WAP hitmaker joined forces with the Hollywood stars as they reprised their iconic roles as Wayne Campbell and Garth Algar to promote Uber Eats.
Taking inspiration from the vibes of the SNL skit-turned 1992 film, the commercial is all about breaking the fourth wall as the duo complains about the ways adverts try to manipulate viewers.
They start off with classic manipulation tactics such as subliminal messaging as Mike, 57, began: ‘As a local access show, we want everyone to support local restaurant.’
‘But we’d never manipulate you the way all these other commercials do,’ adds Dana, 65, as the words ‘EAT LOCAL’ flashes on the screen.
The duo then randomly start holding adorable lookalike babies before Mike continues: ‘We’d never shamelessly rely on a celebrity cameo.’
Then the camera cuts to Cardi B sitting on the sofa next to them as she states: ‘Yeah, eat local!’
The three then do a coordinated dance and sing ‘local eats’ to the theme song from Wayne’s World.
Seeing Cardi dressed in both Wayne and Garth’s costumes is something we never expected to see but we can’t get enough.
The full advert will air on Sunday during the Super Bowl LV game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
