Bobby Brazier, a Strictly Come Dancing legend, puzzled viewers with a joke about Dianne Buswell.
The EastEnders actress, 20, appeared on Loose Women with her father, Jeff Brazier, after becoming a household name during this year’s season of Strictly Come Dancing.
While he did not win, Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola won, Bobby captivated the hearts of viewers with his excitement, devastating homage to mother Jade Goody, and friendship with professional dance partner Dianne, 34.
Bobby and Dianne were really close during their time on the programme and, like many friends, may enjoy making fun of one other.
However, a joke Bobby made regarding Dianne’s age did not go over well with Loose Women viewers.
Chatting on the show, Bobby began by admitting he ‘misses Dianne’ and feels ‘lost’ without her, joking ‘how long can eating ice cream for breakfast last?’
But later in the conversation, when noted he had ‘really grown up’ during his time on Strictly, he added candidly: ‘Well I have been hanging around an old lady for the last three of four months.’
Jeff was quick to jump in, warning ‘that’s unfair on Dianne … you’ll be in trouble if she’s watching this.’
Viewers took to Twitter, aka X, questioning whether they heard the comment correctly, with one writing it was a ‘bit rude.’
User Joanne said it was ‘not called for,’ while John Locke said it was ‘rude … in a room with all older women as well.’
And as user Blossom put it: ‘Bobby calling Dianne old? She’s only 34, not exactly pulling the pension yet.’
Bobby said learning to dance with Dianne was something he ‘fell in love with’.
‘I fell in love with telling a story,’ he explained, whether it was about joy or grief, ‘the ability to express myself with Dianne through the mean of a dance…’
He admitted to having a newfound love for musicals and showtunes, so don’t count out seeing him in the West End in the future.
As one of the show’s standout talents, offers are already pouring in for the young actor.
The BBC has lately expressed interest in hiring the singer to host a travelogue show with her father, Jeff.
Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
