Billie Piper has made a number of outrageous confessions, including stealing pants and the Spice Girls giving her smokes when she was just 15.
The 41-year-old actress appeared on Saturday’s episode of The Jonathan Ross Show, when she and Mel B aka Scary Spice reminisced about their first meeting while shooting Top of the Pops.
‘I was such a huge fan so imagine being 15 in a dressing room with The Spice Girls, I used to smoke cigarettes with you guys in the dressing room, you’d give me fags,’ Billie said.
Mel interjected, ‘That would have been me and Emma [Bunton],’ as Billie added: ‘Yeah, it was you and Emma and we would sit on the floor at Top of the Pops smoking cigarettes and ashing in a plastic cup, it was heaven.’
Billie also discussed taking knickers and a whip from the set of Secret Diary of a Call Girl.
And she has quite the collection, since the singer acknowledged to stealing from the Tardis.
Billie began her Doctor Who career as Rose Tyler from 2005 to 2006, before moving on to portray Belle de Jour in the ITV drama series, for which she has memorabilia.
‘I take things from set, I see things, I take them,’ Billie admitted.
She went on: ‘Loads of things, rings, costume jewellery, I actually have a whip and some underwear from The Secret Diary of a Call Girl.’
Talking about taking things from the Tardis, she added: ‘I took loads of stuff from the Tardis, the main central console.’
Billie rose to prominence as a teenager with her first song before transitioning to acting, where she received Bafta nominations in 2021 and 2023 for her main part in I Hate Suzie.
When asked about her family life and what her children make of her career, two of whom she shares with Laurence Fox, Billie said: ‘My elder one couldn’t give a s**t’, which I actually like, I think that’s a healthier response.
‘I think I’ve got a fan in my youngest child, she will watch my music videos and ask to play my songs in the car and I’ll oblige.’
She went on: ‘I was 14 when I signed my record deal, the same age as my eldest son which blows my mind but he isn’t that interested which I think is fine.’
While she stars in the upcoming Netflix thriller Scoop, which follows the controversial Emily Maitlis interview with Prince Andrew in 2019, her children want her to play a different part.
‘They have no interest in me being in Doctor Who but they will come to a convention where there’s access to real famous people, genuine stars if there is access to Stranger Things, Marvel or Lord of the Rings,’ she said.
While the mother of three prefers to keep her family life private, she recently broke her years-long quiet on her marriage to Fox, accusing him of being ‘very tough’ to co-parent with.
She was married to the controversial 45-year-old actor and GB News broadcaster from 2007 to 2016.
The couple stated that their marriage had ‘irretrievably broken down,’ with Fox describing the divorce as ‘horrendous’.
In later years, Piper avoided speaking of their relationship and the controversies surrounding Fox, though she has claimed to ‘know about dysfunctional relationships’.
The Jonathan Ross Show airs Saturday at 9.35pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
