Kerry, the Big Brother star, actually need medical assistance while in the house, something fans were not aware of.
Whether she was feuding with first evictee Farida, exposing her controversial political viewpoint, or having meltdowns over assignments, the polarising housemate surely made an impression on this series.
Kerry’s time in the house was cut short by a dramatic backdoor eviction on Halloween, with a fan flash vote sending her via a hidden exit after Trish and Noky were charged with delivering three housemates a ‘killing nomination’ in the middle of the night.
While it’s unfortunate that Kerry is no longer causing havoc in the legendary home, her departure is beneficial to us since it means she may reveal the show’s secrets.
Speaking to The Sun, the 40-year-old NHS worker said she previously suffered excruciating pain after burning her hand, resulting in a check-up from the doctor.
‘I burnt my hand on a hair tong that got hot very quickly and I didn’t realise it was on and straight away they asked me to go to the Diary Room,’ she shared.
‘I was asked if I had any blisters – the team were really on it.’
Kerry was dressed as a mummy for her frightening eviction, so those bandages were certainly useful!
Kerry also has MS (multiple sclerosis), a long-term (chronic) central nervous system condition.
This complicated her time at home, especially on the day she began’struggling’ by losing vision in one eye.
‘I was really ready to go that day. I had been struggling for the last two to five days with some MS symptoms that I hadn’t had since diagnosis,’ she shared.
‘I started to lose my vision a little bit in one of my eyes, optic neuritis, I took a couple of paracetamol and thought, by lunchtime if it was gone then it was just a headache but if it hadn’t then it was something a bit more sinister.’
Kerry said the sleep deprivation was also very real, admitting she’s ‘never felt anything like it.’
‘I massively underestimated that on my part.’
Kerry’s eviction allowed Scottish dancer Olivia and DJ Dylan to stay for another week, as she assured Trish and Noky that she had no ill will for putting her up for the vote.
Dylan’s days appear to be limited, as he faces eviction for the third time this week, along with Paul, Trish, and Noky.
Unbeknownst to the housemates, Friday will be a harsh double eviction, with two housemates being evicted as the finale approaches.
Dylan, in particular, has stirred outrage in recent episodes with his outbursts, with Kerry in particular expressing she was astonished by how the action proceeded after she left.
Kerry said after seeing some of the show that his rage at Trish for nominating him was ‘disappointing,’ adding that he’s ‘done himself no favours’ in her opinion.
And, despite being at the focus of intense debates in the home, Kerry felt’ready’ to go and visit her family, having been showered with affection since venturing out into the real world.
One of her fan favourites is the Bald Kerry meme, which arose after a spectator noticed she resembled Paddy from Emmerdale.
‘I don’t take myself too seriously, I don’t want people to. Life is far too short not to smile. I love to laugh at myself,’ she told us.
Big Brother continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
