Fans were ecstatic when they saw the new teaser for Sex and The City spin-off And Just Like That, which hinted at the return of familiar figures from the much-loved series, which initially starred Sarah Jessica Parker.
The first look teaser, which debuted on Wednesday, showed John Corbett’s character Aidan Shaw approaching Sarah’s character Carrie’s iconic brown-stone New York flat.
Aiden was the leading lady’s past love interest in the films and TV programme that followed the struggles and tribulations of the stylish columnist.
Sarah as Carrie is heard stating in the newly released footage: ‘And just like that, I realised certain things are better left in the past, but maybe not everything.’
While the character is delivering the line, the character’s previous beau is seen walking up to her house for what looked to be a reunion of sorts, which was hinted at back in January when the actors were seen filming together.
Fresh faces from the first season of the programme returned for the trailer, including Surita Chowdry’s Seema and Karen Pittman’s Dr Nya Wallace.

Carrie joins Seema’s character Surita for lunch and can be heard reminding fans in her voiceover: ‘If you’re lucky, no matter what life offers you, you can always depend on your closest friends to be there’.
A classic figure Miranda began a new relationship in the previous series, which appears to be continued in the second installment, as Cynthia Nixon and Che Diaz, played by Sara Ramirez, are shown kissing.
The new season of the HBO programme began production in September of last year, when Sarah announced it on her Instagram account by uploading a screenshot of the first episode’s screenplay.
She wrote in the caption at the time: ‘@justlikethatmax Just this much. For now. X, SJ [sic].’
Fans on Twitter reacted quickly to the new teaser, sharing their enthusiasm in the comments section beneath HBO’s tweet.
One penned: ‘June just got a little more fabulous!,’ while another said: ‘RUN AIDAN RUN!! [sic],’ noticing the potential return of the old face.
‘The way I screamed at the end,’ was a social media user’s reaction to the news the episodes were on their way.
