Amanda Holden feels that Brits are more conservative than ever before.
The Britain’s Got Talent judge, 52, has already stated that she will not be covering up anytime soon, despite being the focus of trolls and even BGT fans who have complained in their hundreds about her outfit choices.
Amanda recently aroused the ire of Andrew Tate, who stated that he didn’t like one of her bikini photographs since she was a “wife and mother.”
Amanda just spent time working on a new documentary and believes the country has regressed in terms of respecting and appreciating female bodies.
‘There has always been an extraordinary regard for the female form earlier,’ she remarked ahead of the release of Sex: A Bonkers History, in which she explores how sexual habits have influenced civilisations across the millennia.
‘The Victorians, I think, were to blame — in their eyes everything became more sexualised than it was meant to be.
‘It’s crazy that when you think of the hoo-ha around some of my outfits now, we’re still there. It’s absolutely ridiculous that it’s still going on in an era when we really think that we are ahead of the game,’ she added when speaking to The Sun.
She added: ‘But as I always say when we talk about Britain’s Got Talent, I’m 52 — if they want to still talk about my t*** then bring it on!’
Amanda also stripped naked for a raunchy photo in the series, but she stated it would never be seen and was instead given to her husband Chris as a birthday present.
‘It felt liberating to pose naked. Certain areas were covered up, but I suppose it is like doing their equivalent of Playboy or something like that, then keeping it private for the person you love most,’ she explained.
Explaining how it was only her boobs that were on show, Amanda said she felt ‘looked after and completely comfortable’.
‘I don’t feel uncomfortable being naked, but I think if I’d been in a room full of people, I wouldn’t have done it. But we were all very well looked after, and it was very discreet.
‘I didn’t want to show the finished painting to the television audience only because of the reaction it would get.’
Amanda has had hundreds of Ofcom complaints over the years after viewers complained about her clothes being too exposing and improper for a family-friendly show.
The BGT judge was previously the target of 235 Ofcom complaints for wearing a severely plunging gown during the talent show’s 2020 season.
Another revealing costume she wore on the show in 2017 became one of the year’s most complained-about TV moments, with 663 people emailing the watchdog about it.
Amanda claimed earlier this year that she would never ‘fade into the background’ and would continue to ‘flaunt her pieces’ for as long as she could.
She claimed she will continue to exhibit her shape even as her body matures, joking she would ‘scoop up’ her parts when they are ‘drooping to the floor’.
Sex: A Bonkers History starts on September 18 at 9pm on Sky History.
