Ozzy Osbourne has announced that The Osbournes will return to television after nearly 20 years since its last episode aired.
The Black Sabbath rockstar, 75, is truly giving the people what they want, as he announced that the hit reality TV show will be re-released, allowing fans to relive ‘all the chaos’ on the box again.
When its first episode aired on MTV in 2002, The Osbournes, which followed heavy metal rocker Ozzy and his family life with wife and manager Sharon, 71, and children Kelly, 39, and Jack, 38, was an immediate hit.
The Osbournes was the first show of its kind to win a Primetime Emmy, surpassing the HBO docuseries Project Greenlight, among others, for Outstanding Non-Fiction Programme (Reality) in 2002.
It may have paved the way for The Kardashians, as its first season was the most-watched MTV series ever.
Not only will we be able to watch some of the most iconic reality TV shows of the 2000s, but the show’s stars will be watching as well.
Taking to X, Ozzy wrote alongside a video of the family talking about the news: ‘Guess who’s hitting your screens again? That’s right – @TheOsbournesTV! We’re re-releasing our iconic series and kicking off The Basement Tapes, where you’ll watch us relive the chaos. Join us at https://t.co/YpYbaX2QlY for all the exclusive content!’

In the video, Jack makes the big announcement, as he said: ‘We are finally re-releasing The Osbournes.

‘Since the show has left the air it hasn’t been readily available to anyone, and we’re also doing some new content around the original footage.
‘We’re going to be doing The Basement Tapes, it’s going to be a watch party with us watching, er…’
‘Ourselves,’ offered Kelly, as Jack responded:’Yeah, it’s going to be full of narcissism.’
‘Fabulous,’ responded Sharon, while Kelly – who doesn’t seem to be looking forward to the project as much – simply said: ‘Insecurity.’
While Sharon said it would be the perfect opportunity to ‘understand what your father and I went through,’ Kelly reckons it will be a good time to scrutinise their childhood.
Let the watch party begin.
