It’s been an eventful year in the worlds of films, TV programmes and games, and Google has finally revealed which ones topped their year-in-review 2023 UK charts.
Unsurprisingly, two massive summer blockbusters that had everyone talking took the top places in terms of what people have been searching for in terms of films this year – Barbie and Oppenheimer – but the order of their popularity may surprise some.
When it comes to UK TV, a British criminal drama series that returned for its last season took the top spot.
The programme that topped the US and worldwide charts came in first, just ahead of a popular Amazon Prime Video thriller.
In the gaming industry, people have been infatuated with one specific release, with a game that was later made into a very popular TV programme coming in second place.
More highlights from Google’s 2023 Year in Search report for the UK are available below.
