The much awaited trailer for Disney’s forthcoming Peter Pan & Wendy, starring Jude Law as Captain Hook, has been revealed.
The classic 1953 film’s live-action remake will follow Peter Pan, the child who never grows up, as he travels to Neverland with his new companion Wendy to show her the unlimited joy it has to offer.
Alexander Molony will play Peter, while Ever Anderson, the daughter of actress Milla Jovovich and director Paul WS Anderson, will play Wendy.
It will be released on Disney Plus on April 28 to coincide with Disney’s 100-year anniversary celebrations.
And the film’s latest teaser provides fans their first thrilling glimpse at the flick and its legendary characters in action.
The caravan opens with Wendy staring at her hands while standing on Neverland’s shore, while Captain Hook’s ominous voice can be heard overhead wondering how she got there.
She continues her hunt for Peter before seeing The Lost Boys – and is surprised to discover that they are not all boys.
The caravan then cuts to Wendy and her brothers John and Michael, played by Joshua Pickering and Jacobi Jupe, as they are blown away by Peter’s charm when they first meet.
We also get our first look of Tinkerbell, who is performed by Yara Shahidi, the first Black woman to play the role.
The trio accompany Peter to the wonderful country of Neverland, but their lighthearted pleasure is quickly interrupted by the kingdom’s troublesome pirates.
He is then shown dressed like Captain Hook’s trademark red cloak, complete with his long, untidy hair and sword.
Wendy Moira’s ‘Angela Darling, where is Peter Pan?’ he questions of the hero before the epic teaser concludes with different combat sequences.
Jim Gaffigan, Noah Matthews Matofsky, Felix de Sousa, Molly Parker, Alan Tudyk, Diana Tsoy, Sebastian Billingsley-Rodriguez, Alyssa Wapanatâhk, Caelan Edie, and Florence Bensberg round out the cast.
David Lowery will helm the picture, with executive producers Adam Borba and Thomas M. Hammel, and a story written by Lowery and Toby Halbrooks.
It follows in the footsteps of previous popular live-action Disney adaptations such as The Jungle Book and Dumbo.
Peter Pan & Wendy will be released on Disney Plus on Friday, April 28.
