‘This holiday season, it’s time to rediscover a classic. Kevin Mcallister is back – except this family is a little weird around Christmas,’ the voiceover stated.
The older Kevin then told his mum in the trailer: ‘That day you left, I had to defend our house. I was just a kid and you left me home alone.’
The voiceover added: ‘Get ready for Kevin’s final showdown!’
Macaulay insisted in the clip: ‘This time it’s not just me home alone. I need to defend this house for my family.’
Social media users were loving the parody trailer.
@airbendingeagle2358 posted in the YouTube comments section: ‘I don’t care if this is only a parody, I totally could see this being an actual movie.’
@andrekusumayadi4820 added: ‘I haven’t gone to the cinema in a long time, but if they make this parody into a real movie, I’ll grab my money and go to the cinema in an instant. I swear.’
@missbrownskinlady23 wrote: ‘Whoever did this parody is a genius, this would’ve been incredible if this ever happen.’
Kevin, at eight years old, was unintentionally left home alone by his family over the holidays in the original Home Alone. He then had to do everything he could to keep the Wet Bandits out of their house after they tried to break in.
Home Alone 2: Lost in New York came out two years after the original film, in 1992.
It starred many of the original cast members and saw Kevin unintentionally board a trip to New York City, where he became separated from his family before reuniting with his old foes.
Home Alone 3 followed in 1997, with the fourth film following in 2002, but none starred the original cast.
The fake third movie trailer follows Macaulay Culkin’s recent induction onto the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Catherine O’Hara, his on-screen mother, was there to support him, as were his fiancée Brenda Song and their two boys.
