The Fast and Furious 9 release date has been pushed back once more, with the flick given the green light for a June premiere.
F9 – which stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris and Tyrese – was due to be in cinemas on May 28, after a string of hold-ups due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Film bosses have now confirmed that the latest film in the action franchise will be in cinemas on June 25, and we’ve already got our seatbelts on.
Vin, who stars as Dominic Toretto, shared the announcement on his own Instagram page, posting a video of a car escaping an explosion with fans.
Alongside the brief clip, the 53-yar-old simply penned: ‘Finally!!! Blessed and grateful. #F9 #Fastsaga #Fatherhood.’
Co-star Ludacris, who plays Tej Parker, was among the first to celebrate the news in the comments, replying: ‘We Just Gettin Started [sic].’
‘Let’s goooo,’ another cheered as one suggested: ‘Hopefully we chilled out on the cgi. Love the fast fam no matter what though.’
‘Vin Diesel thanks for all of these years bringing us every single one of these amazing films,’ an Instagram user added.
We totally agree.
While fans have been (not so) patiently waiting for any news on the movie, a teaser dropped during last month’s Super Bowl game, sending us all into a spin.
A blue Skyline car could be seen in the very, very brief spoiler, in an apparent nod to Brian O’Conner – after actor Paul Walker died in 2013.
There was intense speculation on who was behind the wheel, with many questioning whether Paul’s brothers had replaced him through CGI – similar to the ending of Fast 7.
While others were convinced that it was his on-screen partner Mia (Jordana Brewster) who had taken the iconic car out for a spin.
Thankfully, we don’t have too long to wait before we get our answers.
Fast and Furious 9 will be released on June 25.
