McDonald’s axes fan favourite and welcomes four new menu additions

The introduction of McDonald’s summer menu may be disappointing for some, as a fan favourite is poised to be eliminated.

The Garlic Wrap is being removed off the menu to make room for a slew of new dishes, as well as some new Saver Meal Deals to help you get the most bang for your buck.

The garlicky wrap will no longer be available as of Wednesday, June 21, but maybe its successor will be just as tasty.

The Caesar and Bacon Wrap, which costs £5.19 and includes grilled or breaded chicken, creamy caesar dressing, crispy onions, bacon, and lettuce in a traditional soft tortilla wrap, has taken its place.

Mozzarella Bites will also be available, which are identical to McDonald’s Dippers (and come with the same Tangy Tomato Dip), but in a smaller ‘bitesize’ version. A single chunk would set you back £2.29, while a 20-piece share box will set you back £6.29.

The most fascinating new menu items, though, are on the sweeter side.

The Lotus Biscoff McFlurry has been rumoured for a long, but the fast food company has now confirmed it.

Pieces of the beloved biscuit will be swirled with soft serve McFlurry ice cream and topped with Lotus Biscoff sauce.

Those with a sweet taste will also be thrilled to learn about a brand-new addition to Maccies’ dessert menu: the Double Chocolate Pie.

It’s a South Korean staple, with a chocolaty shell and molten chocolate sauce poured within. Just remember to let it cool before biting into it, as many of us discovered the hard way with the brand’s iconic Apple Pie.

Two additional throwbacks are also returning, although for a limited period. The Double Big Mac (with or without bacon) and Spicy Sriracha Wrap will be available worldwide beginning June 21, while the Biscoff McFlurry will be available until August 1.

The remainder of the menu will be available for a bit longer, so place your Double Chocolate Pie orders before September 5th.

Furthermore, in the face of growing prices, McDonald’s has unveiled a new money-saving deal that allows families to feed four people for under £20.

Saver Meal Deals will start at £3.99 and include a Cheeseburger, Mayo Chicken, or Double Cheeseburger, as well as fries and a drink.

‘We can’t control inflation, but what we still provide is fantastic value for money,’ said Alistair Macrow, Chief Executive Officer of McDonald’s UK & Ireland.

‘You can get a hot burger freshly made from 100% British and Irish beef served with fries made from locally grown potatoes and a drink in a lovely environment for £3.99, less than a price of a coffee in many competitors. I don’t know many people who are able to do a better job than that.’
