Sarah Beeny has said that collecting wigs has been ‘more fun’ than she anticipated, as she opens up about her hair loss amid chemotherapy treatment.
The TV presenter and property expert revealed that she was diagnosed with breast cancer last month and has since started an intensive treatment plan, with a mastectomy and radiotherapy planned for next year.
The 50-year-old has kept her followers up to date along her cancer journey, from donating her hair to the Princess Trust to losing her hair after chemo.
Now, Sarah has debuted a brand-new look as she shared her excitement about a new wig she’d added to her collection.
Sarah smiled at the camera while showing off a beautiful blonde bob with loose curls hanging delicately on her shoulder, adding that this part of the process has been more enjoyable than she thought it might be.
She shared her fabulous new look with her 188,000 Instagram followers and wrote: ‘New wig – this might be more fun than I expected…!!! X’
Fans rushed to comment on her new ‘do, with one writing: ‘Can’t believe that’s a wig!’ as another echoed: ‘What an incredible wig! You look incredible Sarah!’
A third gushed: ‘Wow! What a fabulous wig. You look amazing. Looking forward to seeing lots more wig styling. Big hugs x’
Celebrity Juice host, Keith Lemon added: ‘Looks ace!’
The upbeat post comes only a day after Sarah revealed that she was struggling, as most of her hair fell out within 24 hours of having chemo.
She took a photo of a clump of her blonde and grey hair in her hand and revealed she’d shaved the remainder of her hair off.
Sarah penned: ‘Sort of much harder than I expected it to be when it happened – in 24 hrs most hair fell out and I’ve shaved the rest off – onward and upward! X.’
The star shared that she had started to wear wigs on social media on Wednesday, as she posted a gorgeous photo cosied up to her dog, where they crouched in the grass amongst colourful flowers.
She said: ‘A handful of wild flower seeds and a bit of patience!!!! (One of us might be wearing a very good wig….!!) xx’
