Stanley Tucci is a great actor, but he is also a good cook. Robert Downey Jr. can witness to this because he has eaten at the Tucci home.
After walking out of the screening of the upcoming film in support of the strikes, the actor who plays Oppenheimer stopped by for a tasty home-cooked Italian meal.
Stanley can be seen making “Cod alla Livornese” for his friends, who, according to the 62-year-old’s own Instagram video, numbered 12 people.
‘I’m cooking for 12 people, hence the four pans,’ he said with a slight smile as the camera showed four huge pans with multiple chunks of cod in each.
Clearly impressed by the meal, Robert, 58, gave a little approving cheer at the table before adorably kissing the chef on the cheek.
He wrote: ‘Dinner @ Casa Tucci – Truly a gem of a fella, & Felicity made me feel like family. Check out @stanleytucci in Searching for Italy.’
Over the noise of the kitchen, the Burlesque actor told the woman who was recording, “You might have to talk a little louder, they’re yelling.”
He smiled and leaned towards the camera to name the ingredients: capers, tomatoes, onion, “a little bit of garlic,” and black and green olives.
Stanley and Robert have not worked together directly, but they are both in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In Captain America: The First Avenger, Stanley played Abraham Erskine, the scientist who helps Steve Rogers become a hero.
Dominic Cooper, who played a young Howard Stark, the father of Robert’s character Tony Stark, worked with him.
Fans think this meal was to celebrate the release of the movie Oppenheimer because Stanley’s wife, Felicity, is the sister of Emily Blunt, who is also 40 and in the movie.
They met at the opening of The Devil Wears Prada, but they didn’t see each other again until the wedding of Emily and John Krasinski in 2009.
Stanley recently said that he almost broke up with his girlfriend because of their age difference. He said this on BBC 4’s Desert Island Discs: “I didn’t want to feel old for the rest of my life! But I knew that this guy was one of a kind.’
Even though he didn’t want to, he married her and they have been married since 2012. They have a boy, Matteo, who is eight, and a daughter, Emilia, who is five.
Stanley has three girls from his first marriage. When his first wife, Kate, died of cancer, Felicity helped him raise them.
‘If anybody made things better for all of us, it’s her. She’s the one,’ he added.
