Rita Ora reportedly has a ‘game plan’ to figure out who in her inner circle leaked the news about her illegal birthday party.
The I Will Never Let You Down singer issued an apology and paid a £10,000 fine after holding a gathering of around 30 people at a London restaurant to celebrate her 30th birthday.
Photographers caught Rita and her friends entering the Casa Cruz restaurant in Notting Hill on Saturday night, as well as snapping police peering through the windows and attempting to gain access.
Now, Rita has allegedly launched a probe to uncover the mole in her group.
A source told The Sun: ‘Some of her closest confidantes have been getting in her ear suggesting someone on the guest list with a guilty conscience or a scorned friend who didn’t make the cut may have dobbed her in.
’It was meant to be secret, but the fact police and photographers knew it was happening has really made Rita paranoid.’
They added: ‘She’s now devising a game plan and setting traps in a bid to expose the whistleblower, like Coleen did in the Wagatha Christie drama.’
It is believed stars including Vas J Morgan and Cara and Poppy Delevingne were in attendance at the bash.
Rules in place at the time of the party stated that in England, restaurants and pubs should only be open for takeaway and delivery, while people were not allowed to mix indoors, or outdoors in groups larger than six.
Rita issued an apology afterbarra being rumbled, saying: ‘Hello all, I attended a small gathering with some friends to celebrate my 30th birthday. It was a spur of the moment decision made with the misguided view that we were going out of lockdown and this would be OK…
‘I’m deeply sorry for breaking the rules and in turn understand that this puts people at risk. This was a serious and inexcusable error of judgement. Given the restrictions, I realise how irresponsible these actions were and I take full responsibility.
‘I feel particularly embarrassed knowing first-hand how hard people have worked to combat this terrible illness and being fully aware of the sacrifices that people and businesses have made to help keep us all safe. Even though this won’t make it right, I want to sincerely apologise.’
Sources claim that Rita voluntarily paid a £10,000 fine to the council as a gesture of goodwill for the rule breach.
The popstar has since pulled out of an appearance on this week’s Jonathan Ross Show in the wake of the scandal.
As of today, lockdown restrictions have been lifted in England, with rules set by tier systems dependant on the area.
London is now under tier 2 rules, under which restaurants and pubs can open to customers if a substantial meal is served.
