Peaky Blinders star Finn Cole has said that he expects the sixth season of the show to start shooting next year. He also hinted that it could even air by the end of 2021.
Peaky Blinders fans have had to be patient throughout the years. Unlike many, the show isn’t on a strict yearly rotation. This means the gaps between seasons is never a set length.
Fans now find themselves in an extended period without the show with season five wrapping up in September of last year. News on season six has been sparse also, with coronavirus delaying production even further.

However, star Finn Cole has now given some hope to fans looking for news on how long they might be waiting.
Speaking to NME, the actor gave a proposed timeline for the season’s release. He said: ‘I’m hoping that we can go back to work next year and that we can have things ready for you by the end of the year.’
He also said: ‘I can’t wait to get back to work and for the fans to see it because they’ve been waiting so patiently for so long now: it’s about time we gave them something.’
Cole did however stress that none of this was set in stone and that he hasn’t yet seen scripts.
Cole also spoke about proposed spin-offs that creator Steven Knight has hinted at.
When asked if he would participate in a one if it involved his character Michael Gray, he said: ‘Yes! If the writing was great, and it usually is with Steve, and the story was good, I’d be open to the idea, of course.’
One thing is for sure though – after this wait, whenever season six does show up, it’s sure to be welcomed by these patient fans.
