Jenny Jones, an Olympic bronze medalist and snowboarder, announced last summer that she and her partner Dan were expecting their first child.
As she announced the news to her fans on Monday, the athlete uploaded a photo of her developing baby bulge on Instagram.
When she announced she was expecting a baby in June, she exclaimed that the couple was “ready with all the hugs” for their new arrival.
Jenny represented Great Britain at the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi and is a regular on BBC Ski Sunday.
The blonde stunner posed sideways on, lifting up her knit sweater to display her big tummy against the background of Saunton Beach in Devon.
She paired her jumper with a blue and white striped shirt and completed the ensemble with grey trousers and lace-up black boots.
Along with the photo, she included a touching statement in which she explained her wonderful news to her over 50 thousand Instagram followers.
It read: ‘happy days…… little Baby 😉 … been keeping me company all winter 🙂 Dan and I ready with all the hugs sometime in June x #week28 #pregnant [sic]’.
In the comments area, fans and friends expressed their best wishes and congrats to the new parents.
One said: ‘Yay this has made my week!! Congratulations [sic]’.
Another offered: ‘Yeyyeyeeyyey that bump is beautiful just like it’s mummy xxx [sic]’.
‘Another snowboarding legend in the making,’ was a social media user’s response to the big announcement.
Fans and friends left well-wishes and congrats in the comment section for the first-time parents.Jenny, a Bristol native, became a household name after winning the country’s first Winter Olympics medal.
She won bronze in the first women’s slopestyle competition held in Sochi that year.
Speaking on her career in a special documentary made about her for Dazed, the victor said: ‘I never went into snowboarding thinking I was going to be a professional snowboarder.ion.
‘I just wanted to go snowboarding. I decided to do it for a year before going to university and I didn’t look any further ahead than that.
‘A lot of things in life, you don’t want to take a risk, you want to do half and half, I couldn’t do that.
‘I’ll look back and know that I went in the direction I believed in and I didn’t wuss out. How many people get a chance to do this?’
