For the first time, Noel Gallagher has spoken publicly about his divorce from his wife.
The Oasis singer, 55, and his wife Sara MacDonald, 51, announced their divorce in January after 22 years of marriage.
Donovan, 15, and Sonny, 12, are the former couple’s children, while Noel has a 22-year-old daughter Anais with ex-wife Meg Mathews.
It was reported at the time that Noel had moved out of their family home and asked solitude in a statement sent through their spokesperson, maintaining that he and Sara plan to continue co-parenting.
The Wonderwall hitmaker has been tight-lipped about their split until now.
In quotes obtained by The Sun, the High Flying Birds put his divorce down to a ‘midlife crisis.’
‘When you get to your mid-fifties, you do come to some kind of crossroads in your life,’ he explained.
‘It’s not uncommon for people who have been in long-term relationships to go their separate ways in their fifties.
‘I know a lot of people in the same boat as me and Sara.
‘Particularly after the pandemic.’
‘The midlife crisis thing is true for men and women,’ he stated.
His remarks came just after Noel was caught on a date with a lingerie model.
Four months after splitting from Sara, the actor had a raucous night out at upscale London members club Maison Estelle with close chum James Cook.
Then they went to his favourite Hollywood hangout, the Chiltern Firehouse.
Noel was joined by attractive actress and pin-up Charlotte Carter-Allen on what seemed to be a double date, with suspicions spreading that they’ve gotten close.
A source said: ‘Noel and James are close mates and both recently single and were with two very attractive women when they arrived at Chiltern Firehouse.
‘It looked very much like a double date and everyone was clearly having a great time.’
And it seems Noel hasn’t been down in the dumps at all after his split, as he’s channelled his relationship heartache into new tunes.
Noel stated in the most recent issue of the Big Issue magazine that he had no desire to look back in anger.
‘I’m certainly not getting nostalgic for the past, no way,’ he told the outlet.
‘Things are f***ing great in the present.
‘Man City are great, my life is great.
‘I’m happy and healthy, I’m about to go on tour around the world.
‘It’s happening now for me.’
