Melinda Messenger and her fiancé, Dr Raj Joshi, have split barely six months after their engagement.
The pair met on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins in 2022, a Channel 4 show taped in Vietnam that had Melinda undergoing rigorous army training as Dr Raj worked as a doctor.
Despite having a whirlwind romance that began in odd circumstances, they’ve decided it’s time to part ways.
‘They fell fast and had an amazing year or so travelling the world, but decided to call it quits this year,’ a source told The Sun.
They added that model Melinda, 53, is ‘gutted’ as she believed that he was the person for her.
‘The wedding is off. They are no longer in touch,’ it concluded.
Melinda and the 47-year-old doctor first saw one other in the medic tent when she was shooting SAS. She recalls being covered in’sweat, blood, tears, and pee’ from the terrible display when they first connected.
‘We just carried on chatting after that and that was it! So the show changed my life in more ways than one, and I’m truly thankful for that,’ she previously told The Sun.
Dr. Raj is an expedition leader who has worked on BBC films such as David Beckham: Into the Unknown and Kilimanjaro: The Big Red Nose Climb. The pair has had numerous adventures together, including a romantic vacation to New Zealand last year.
That particular holiday was made extra special by Dr Ranj’s proposal.
‘We’ve got some very happy news to share,’ Melinda shared on Instagram at the time.
‘@raj.joshi.expedition and I got engaged in beautiful New Zealand at Matariki, the Māori New year, and we are getting married next year! .’
