Matt Damon has added a homage to his late father to his tattoo collection.
Kent Damon, another actor, died in 2017 at the age of 74 after a long fight with cancer.
The late actor even appeared in his son’s 2003 film Stuck on You and had a strong relationship with Matt.
During a visit to his artist, Daniel Winter, alias Winterstone, the 52-year-old Jason Bourne star has unveiled a poignant tattoo.
After being videotaped giving Matt an inking of the word ‘Nomad’ – which is ‘Damon’ backwards – on his shoulder, the famous tattooist published a video of the procedure on his Instagram page.
‘Got to tattoo an idol of mine!,’ he wrote in the caption.
‘Such a cool job to have great experiences like these. #mattdamon’
He went on to explain: ‘The tattoo has great meaning! For his late father.
‘We tattooed NOMAD which was his fathers boat and also Says DAMON backwards! Pretty rad tattoo with so much Meaning!’
But that wasn’t all; the film producer and screenwriter also wanted to get some tattoos.
‘And Mr. Damon tattooed me! His first time tattooing! A small universe… aka a dot!’, Daniel shared.
The Oscar winner now has a variety of tattoos on his body.
His four daughters’ names — Stella, 12, Gia, 14, Isabella, 16, and Alexia, 24 — are also tattooed in fine-line handwriting on his right upper arm, which he had last summer.
The Martian actor already has a ‘Lucy’ tattoo for his wife, Luciana Barroso, which he acquired seven years ago.
He earlier stated that the body art was a spur of the moment choice.
‘On a whim, my wife said, “We’re going to get tattoos today,” so I got a tattoo of her name,’ he once told Access Hollywood.
‘And it always felt alone on my arm, and I’ve always wanted to put the kids on there.
‘So now, I got the kids on there, and now I’ve got to figure out a way to pull it all together.’
