Madonna had a great time celebrating her adopted son David Banda’s 18th birthday, and his celebration looked fantastic.
While many of us would have celebrated turning 18 by heading out to a sticky-floored neighbourhood nightclub and downing some Apple Sourz, David did it in true megastar fashion.
The kid seemed to enjoy a lavish birthday celebration to mark the momentous milestone, as any son or daughter of Madonna – the Queen of Pop, the legend, the one and only – would.
The Like A Virgin singer resorted to social media to post footage from what appeared to be a wild night.
The 65-year-old shared a collection of footage from the night, set to Michael Jackson’s Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’.
‘Happy Birthday David Banda, you stole my heart,’ said a proud Madonna at the beginning of the video, which then went on to show David wearing a dapper white and black suit blowing a kiss to the camera, and pulling some impressive shapes.

The location appeared to be quite slick, with a metropolitan background of skyscrapers, balloons, flowers, and what appeared to be a really amazing set of tunes lighting up the inside – judging by everyone’s passionate dancing.
Following a sequence of dance scenes in which Madonna can also be seen getting her groove on, David is given with a birthday cake decorated with an image of himself, as the audience sings him good wishes.

Madonna adopted David from Malawi when he was 13 months old in 2006. She was still married to Guy Ritchie at the time, but they divorced two years later following an eight-year marriage.
David is the third of Madonna’s six children. Lourdes Leon, 26, came first, followed by Rocco Ritchie, 23, and then David.
Madonna then adopted Mercy James, a 17-year-old boy. Estere and Stella, the singer’s youngest children, are eleven-year-old twins whom she adopted when they were five years old in 2017.
‘Sometimes I would just close my eyes and just think, “Why isn’t my kitchen filled with dancing children?’ There’s so many children that need a home,” Madonna told People in a previous interview about her children and adoption journey.
‘I thought, ‘What am I waiting for? Just do it.’
She also spoke about her relationship with her children after meeting them.
‘It’s inexplicable,’ she said. ‘It’s like saying, “Why do you fall in love with the people you fall in love with?” You look into the eyes of somebody, you feel their soul, you feel touched by them — that’s it.’
