Madonna has returned home following a stint in critical care due to a severe bacterial illness.
It is thought that the Material Girl hitmaker, 64, is ‘feeling better,’ which will come as a comfort to fans.
According to accounts, she was brought back to her New York home in a private ambulance.
‘She’s in the clear,’ a source told CNN.
The hospitalisation of the US singer was disclosed on Wednesday (June 28), along with the cancellation of her 40th-anniversary tour.
She was discovered lifeless and was brought to the hospital for treatment.
Her daughter Lourdes Leon, 26, is reported to have been at her side during the experience.
Her family, on the other hand, is said to have been expecting “the worst.”
A family friend of the global superstar revealed how her relatives ‘prepared for the worst’ following the horrific ordeal as ‘everybody believed that they may lose her.’
‘For the past couple of days, no one really knew which direction this was going to turn, and her family was preparing for the worst,’ they shared.
‘That is why it was kept a secret since Saturday. Everyone believed that we may lose her, and that has been the reality of the situation,’ they added to Mail Online.
Her manager initially said in a social media message: ‘On Saturday, June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which lead to a several-day stay in the ICU.
‘Her health is improving, however, she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected.
‘At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour.
‘We will share more details with you soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows.’
It comes after the Vogue singer spent up to 12 hours a day preparing for her highly anticipated Celebration Tour.
She was in hard rehearsals at Long Island’s Nassau Coliseum, according to a source, and she was putting everything she had into polishing the greatest hits set.
‘She had been putting in 12-hour days. She was strenuously rehearsing and putting in the work,’ an insider told Page Six.
Her tour was supposed to begin on Saturday, July 15, hitting venues across the United States before heading to Europe and the United Kingdom later this year.
