Love Island actress Maura Higgins is reportedly beefing up security around her house after being’shaken up’ by an attempted invasion by masked men.
The 32-year-old model and influencer reportedly made the adjustments after three masked men tried to enter into her condominium and steal automobiles.
The would-be robbers were supposedly successful in shaking and pushing down one of her Essex home’s gates, forcing inside and attempting to steal a number of cars.
An insider revealed: ‘Neighbours caught it all on CCTV and it was chilling to see three masked men ram through the gates and start trying to break into cars.
‘Maura has lived in her gated community for three years and said she no longer feels safe.’
They added to The Sun: ‘There are a number of high-profile names in that complex and living in that area. It is worrying for everyone, including Maura.’
It was alleged to have happened in the early hours of last Wednesday morning, with the insider adding informing the tabloid that the actress is ‘upping security on her car and at her home’ as a result.
Maura rose to prominence as a bombshell Love Island villa contestant in 2019, the same year as her now-close companion Molly-Mae Hague, as well as her partner Tommy Fury, Amber Gill, and Greg O’Shea.
It was revealed in February that Maura will be joining Sophie Piper from the first winter series and Kady McDermott from series two for a special Love Island All Stars series planned to air next year.
Other prior competitors listed as being on the want list include series three winner Kem Cetinay and series two star Scott Thomas, according to sources.
Molly-Mae and Maura happened to run into one other at the same London restaurant on Friday, Molly’s 24th birthday.
The mum-of-one captioned a snap of the two of them, ‘What are the possibilities of my lady returning to the same restaurant tonight and getting sitting just behind me?’
