Lisa Marie Presley, the only child of Elvis Presley, died at the age of 54, according to her mother.
The news came just hours after Priscilla Presley stated that her daughter had been transported to the hospital late Thursday.
‘It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,’ Priscilla said in a statement.
‘She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known.’
Priscilla earlier today requested followers to remember her daughter Lisa Marie in their prayers after she was transported to the hospital.
Mum-of-four Presley, the daughter of Elvis and Priscilla Presley, was in Beverly Hills on Tuesday to watch Elvis star Austin Butler win best actor for his portrayal of her father.
It was her final public appearance.
She was alleged to have been whisked away in an ambulance after paramedics performed CPR on her at her Calabasas home on Thursday.
Sources added to TMZ that paramedics were ‘able to regain a pulse before she was transported’.
Priscilla, who was Elvis’ wife until 1973, has since issued a statement requesting solitude.
The mother and daughter attended the Golden Globes on Tuesday in Beverly Hills, where Austin Butler earned an award for his portrayal of Elvis Presley in the film Elvis.
During Austin’s acceptance speech, in which he said he would love them both forever, they both burst into tears.
Tributes have poured in after the news of Lisa Presley’s death, as Grease star John Travolta wrote: ‘Lisa baby girl, I’m so sorry. I’ll miss you but I know I’ll see you again. My love and heart goes out to Riley, Priscilla, Harper and Finley.’
Musician Pink also shared a throwback photo of the pair with their arms around each other and grinning, and said the news ‘hurts my heart.’
‘Lisa Marie, you were one of a kind. Funny as s**t, smart as a whip, sensitive, talented, witty, mean, loving, generous, judgmental but always right, loyal, and you adored your children.’
Priscilla met Elvis in 1959, when she was 14 and he was 25, at a party in Germany, and the then-young girl moved in with the celebrity four years later.
They married in 1967 and had their daughter nine months later.
They separated, however, in 1972, though they remained close until his death in 1977.
Presley owned and controlled Elvis Presley Enterprises until 2005, when she sold it, but she still owns Elvis’ Memphis mansion, Graceland.
She had two children with her ex-husband, Riley Keough, 33, and Benjamin Keough, 27, who committed suicide in July 2020.
Presley has been grieving her son Benjamin’s loss for two and a half years.
Writing in an essay about his tragic death for People in August, she said: ‘Today is National Grief Awareness Day, and since I have been living in the horrific reality of its unrelenting grips since my son’s death two years ago.
‘I thought I would share a few things to be aware of in regard to grief for anyone who is interested. If not to help yourself but maybe to help another who is grieving… this is quite long, potentially triggering and very hard to confront… I’m sharing my thoughts in the hopes that somehow, we can change that.’
Presley married her first husband, Danny, in 1988 and divorced him in 1994.
Following her divorce from Danny, Presley married Michael Jackson in 1994 for two years before marrying Nicolas Cage in 2002 until their divorce in 2004.
Presley had two younger children with her fourth husband, Michael Lockwood, whom she married in 2006 and divorced in 2021.
