KSI and Logan Paul were forced to leave the premises after Prime bottles were thrown at them at a drink launch in Denmark.
In Copenhagen, the online sensations were pushing their energy hydration drinks.
Prime was originally promoted as a ‘hydration’ drink rather than an energy drink, featuring antioxidants and electrolytes rather than caffeine, however according to the website, Prime Energy includes 200mg of caffeine per bottle.
It has become the core of an unusual craze, with adults fighting over bottles in stores and people selling the product for significantly more than the initial purchase price.
The fan meet-up began civilly, with rapper KSI – real name Olajide Olayinka Williams – screaming to the eager throng, “Drink Prime!”
Fans, however, swiftly began tossing bottles of the drink towards the couple on stage.
While KSI, 30, and Logan, 28, appeared to find the incident amusing, they also covered themselves for safety.
One of the bottles seemed to hit KSI’s head before security personnel intervened and rushed them off the stage.
Sainsbury’s had a wild rush this week as it sold Prime Hydration for the first time, attracting legions of devotees to the product.
Customers waited outside the store before it opened at morning and emptied off the shelves within minutes of the doors opening.
Although Prime was already available in Aldi and Asda, Sainsbury’s was the first to introduce the new KSI limited edition Orange and Mango taste.
People who buy the bottles generally write about their achievement, creating a never-ending circle of free promotion. Prime has been lauded as an example of exceptionally efficient web marketing.
