Kelsey Parker, Tom Parker’s widow, has spoken about’really missing’ her late husband as their daughter begins primary school.
The Wanted singer, who died at the age of 33, was diagnosed with a grade four brain cancer in 2020 and battled it for over two years.
Kelsey has been candid and honest about her struggles with loss and raising their children – Aurelia, four, and two-year-old Bodhi – after his death in March 2022.
On Monday morning, she claimed that her joy at her daughter hitting a milestone was laced with ‘rage’ by Tom’s absence.
Sharing a fresh-faced selfie on Instagram, Kelsey wore a T-shirt emblazoned with the message: ‘If you’re having a bad day, just smile. It will make you feel better.’
It was poignantly attributed to her late husband.
Kelsey, who recently revealed she has embraced spirituality following Tom’s death and looks out for signs from him, posted in the caption: ‘Big day today. I’m so excited for Rae, she’s been ready for school for the last two years 🤣
‘I’m so proud of just how ready she is – confident, aware, happy and inquisitive, I just know that my little sponge is gonna soak up everything she learns and I can’t wait for her to share it with the world (and me at bedtime every night 🤣)’
The mum-of-two continued: ‘Really missing Tom today. Not even sure it’s sadness today. If I’m honest I’m a bit angry. Had a bit of news over the weekend of another unwanted change in my life and I feel scared and unsure of the future again.
‘I’m being dramatic, it’s nothing big and I know this feeling will pass. I’ve come this far, I’m not about to give up now!’
Kelsey went on to admit that she was ‘a little tired of every joyous moment having that little dark cloud’.
‘But I’m going to the NTA’s tomorrow so I’m sure a little glam will lift my spirits!’ she added.
‘I know I’m so lucky to be continuing these lovely events with amazing people that Tom introduced me to. Just wish he was coming with me 💔.’
The influencer then rallied to sign off with a more positive note, writing: ‘Right, I gotta get up and get this girl ready for her big day 🤓’
Fans and friends rallied Around Kelsey in the comments, with one replying: ‘You’ve got this Kelsey, this too shall pass.’
Another added: ‘You continue to be amazing and an inspiration! Good luck Rae xx’
‘Sending lots of love, I’ve also got Tom’s t-shirt on today❤️❤️,’ shared someone else.
Kelsey previously stated that Aurelia uses the news of her father’s death as a “mic drop,” after her mother pushed her to talk openly about it.
