Katie Price has been warned that she is being investigated by the Metropolitan Police for allegedly sending ‘disgusting information’ about her son Harvey Price.
Harvey, 20, has Prader-Willi Syndrome, autism, and is blind, and the actress is his mother.
The Met Police have now contacted Katie to inform her that officers are being investigated for allegedly targeting her handicapped son in a WhatsApp group by uploading ‘inappropriate and discriminating’ photographs of him.
On Friday, she claimed on Instagram that she had been hand-delivered a letter from an officer in which a ‘number’ of cops are accused of ‘being part of a WhatsApp group conversation that has uploaded improper and discriminating photograph of your son, Harvey Price.
‘The officers will now be subject to a Gross Misconduct Hearing’ due to take place on February 20, the letter reads.
Sharing the shocking letter, Katie said: ‘It’s disgusting that police officers from here have felt the need to laugh and use disgusting content on Harvey by creating a [WhatsApp] group.’
‘They need to be named shamed and exposed.’
She also stated that she would be out of town and would be unable to attend court, but would have otherwise.
The charges, according to a preliminary notice for the hearing, relate the officials’ membership in a WhatsApp group between 2016 and 2018.
They are accused of posting ‘discriminatory content attacking the protected characteristics of race, religion or belief, handicap, sexual orientation, and sex’ in the form of messages, memes, and videos on social media.
When Metro.co.uk contacted the Met, a spokeswoman was unable to provide any information owing to the imminent misconduct hearing.
Discreditable Conduct, Authority, Respect and Courtesy, Challenging and Reporting Improper Conduct, Equality and Diversity, and Duties and Responsibilities are among the claimed Standards of Professional Behaviour violations.
On Monday, eight policemen are scheduled to appear in court on claims that their actions violated the Standards of Professional Behaviour: PS Luke Thomas, former A/PS Luke Allen, ex-PC Kelsey Buchan, ex-PC Carlo Francisco, ex-PC Lee South, ex-PC Darren Jenner, ex-PC Glynn Rees, and ex-PC Glynn Rees, and ex-PC Glynn Rees.
The hearing will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday and will last four days.
