Kate Lawler has proven how resourceful she can be in an emergency after creating a face mask out of sanitary pads.
The former Big Brother star found herself in a sticky spot while travelling on the London Underground, after realising she’d forgotten her traditional face mask at home.
Desperate to avoid catching the Omicron variant of Covid, Kate, 41, had a light bulb moment when she realised the spare sanitary towels in her bag could have more than one protective use.
Kindly sharing the life hack on social media, the presenter quipped: ‘If you’d have told me in January 2020 that in two years from now, I’d stick two sanitary towels on my face to create a makeshift mask while on the train, I’d have thought you were drunk.’
In the video, she’s seen sitting on the tube with two sanitary towels casually stuck across her nose and mouth.
‘Forgot my face mask but found two sanitary towels in my backpack. Don’t judge. It’s this or Omicron,’ she wrote.
This Morning presenter Alison Hammond was highly amused by Kate’s creation and commented a string of cry laughing emoji, while TV star Rickie Haywood-Williams applauded: ‘Improv – completed it mate .’
