As the UK has its first taste of summer, Jonathan Ross is quick to fire up the grill.
And his eldest daughter Betty shared a preview of the occasion as her famous family enjoyed the Bank Holiday weekend.
Jonathan, 62, was spotted making veggie burgers and corn on the cob while posing for a social media selfie.
Another shot from the family gathering showed sisters Honey and Betty putting their tongues out and making peace signals while basking in the sun.
In another, Jonathan sat with his children, son Harvey, Honey’s boyfriend Zane, and Ross family friend Stuart.
Another of the family’s photos showed Jonathan’s wife, screenwriter Jane Goldman, proudly holding up a dandelion chain she was making.
A variety of cheese and crackers, crisps, and nuts were served on the food table to keep his visitors satisfied.
The cookout commemorated the Jewish festival Shavuot, also known as the Feast of Weeks, which occurs seven weeks following Passover.
Shavuot, according to the Museum of the Bible, honours ‘the first fruits of the harvest and [is] associated with the giving of the Torah on Mount Sinai.’
In a tweet in February 2021, Jonathan claimed that Betty was’showing an interest in her Jewish culture’ from her mother’s side.
He wrote at the time, ‘I just helped light candies for Shabbat gif the first time. That’s not the easiest song to sing along with….’
Betty has been honest with her social media followers about her disability life, since she has fibromyalgia.
Jonathan, too, spoke out about the ailment in December, stating that his daughter’s condition, which causes extensive pain and intense exhaustion, has’made him listen more as a dad.’
Speaking on Loose Women, he said, ‘She’s got fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome and POTs syndrome as well, which is where your heart rate shoots up.
‘It’s been a tough couple of years for her in particular, but she is getting slowly better.’
