I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! winner Jacqueline Jossa won’t be handing the crown over to this year’s champion, it has been claimed.
Jordan North, Vernon Kay and Giovanna Fletcher have made it into this year’s finale, with Ant and Dec ready to present the winner.
The EastEnders actress won the show last year, and would normally be returning to camp to hand over the ceremonial crown.
However, according to reports, ITV bosses decided against the move as she hadn’t been able to isolate beforehand.
‘It is a more Covid secure option not to invite Jacqueline on set to hand over the crown,’ an insider claimed. ‘So on balance, producers decided for her not to appear on the final.
‘We don’t want to bring an outsider into the bubble. We’ve protected the celebs for weeks and that doesn’t end on the final.
‘She has been rehearsing for a West End role so hasn’t been able to isolate so it was deemed an unnecessary risk.’
Jacqueline was previously invited to return with a host of other former Jungle stars, including Joey Essex and Charlie Brooks, to celebrate the 20-year anniversary.
But, despite being a firm fan favourite last year, she was worried about stealing the thunder of this year’s crop of contestants, and declined.
Instead, she was gearing up for a finale return – which is thought to have now been scrapped.
‘But while she was offered the chance to make a cameo she didn’t want to steal anyone else’s thunder.’
‘She accepted the chance to hand over the crown but it’ll be a flying visit.’
