Ekin-Su Cülcülolu and Davide Sanclimente’s vacation came to a terrible conclusion when their flight home was forced to make an emergency landing.
The Love Island victors, who rose to popularity on last year’s season, were in sunny Turkey this week, posting photos and videos to Instagram.
(They had already announced their breakup, which greatly confused fans.)
The pleasant vacation, however, came to a ‘severe’ conclusion on Friday when their aircraft returning to Manchester was forced to divert to Antalya due to a terrifying technical fault on board.
The Turkish actress, 29, took to Twitter where she shared her ‘nightmare experience,’ admitting she was ‘still worried about if we will make it [home] safe.’
She claimed they were in the air when ‘the engine on the left exploded 4 times, flames and sparks… something from a movie.’
The engine, of course, did not explode, since that would have been a considerably more serious catastrophe, but what transpired clearly worried Ekin.
She went on to say they had ’emergency landed in Antalya,’ calling it the ‘most terrifying experience ever.’
Approached for comment by Metro.co.uk, a Jet2 spokesperson confirmed: ‘Flight LS984 from Bodrum to Manchester followed standard procedure and diverted safely to Antalya on Thursday 24th August, after the crew reported a technical issue.

‘Due to the late hour, customers were provided with hotel accommodation in Antalya, and were flown home last night.’
They insisted ‘at no point was anybody’s safety compromised,’ but said they ‘would of course like to apologise for the disruption caused.’
A lady commented on Ekin’s first tweet, saying she was on the same aircraft as the Love Island contestants and had ‘never experienced fearlike it.’
She assured them, though, that they had arrived safely at their destination and that ‘you’ll be out of there soon if you haven’t already departed,’ wishing them a ‘safe journey.’
Davide hinted to their rekindled romance in an Instagram post last week, when he announced he was taking Ekin-Su to a birthday meal while on vacation.
Davide posted a photo of himself at the table, followed by a photo of the Dancing on Ice star with a cake.
‘Despite all the storms, I wanted to make this day special for you… Enjoy the moment, make a wish, and blow hard. Happy birthday @ekinsuofficial,’ he penned.
Ekin-Su then shared the snap to her story, and added: ‘Surprising me like always, thank you for a good birthday.’
