Don’t worry, Ed, she’ll grow to like it (Picture: PA/BBC)
Ed Sheeran has taken a knock to his self ego as his young daughter bursts into tears every time he sings songs to her.
The successful singer became a first-time dad last year when his wife,
Cherry Seaborn, welcomed their daughter, Lyra Antarctica.
But Lyra doesn’t seem to share the optimism of Ed’s legions of fans clearly not a Sheeran stan.
During an appearance on BBC Radio 1’s ‘Kids Ask Difficult Questions’
segment, he said: ‘I definitely spent hour and hours in front of the
mirror pretending to be essentially what I am now.
Haven’t we all?
‘Practice makes perfect innit?’ he joked. ‘Now I’ll sing [my new songs] to my daughter who’s not my biggest fan. She just cries.’
However it’s not all bad news – she is more a lover of some of his more classic bops.
Ed shared: ‘I’ve got some she likes. She really likes Shape of You,
the marimba sound is good but she doesn’t like anything loud or anything
belty.’
