Eamonn Holmes has revealed he has cupping to her with his ongoing back pain and it definitely isn’t for the faint-hearted.
The former This Morning presenter, 62, shared a gruesome photo of his back with at least 18 bamboo cups stuck to it after undergoing the alternative therapy.
He joked to his followers: ‘My osteo James has just gone home. How am I supposed to get into bed now?????’
Wife Ruth Langsford hopped into the comments to add: ‘My ninja turtle!’
Eamonn previously revealed that he lives with chronic pain after a dislocated pelvis led to him slipping three discs in his back.
His back appeared to be bright red as he underwent the cupping treatment, which is said to decrease pain and inflammation, increase blood flow, reduce stress and help skin issues.
The alternative medicine, which originated in China, sees heated cups usually made of glass or bamboo applied to the back. The treatment usually leaves red circular marks in the treated area which fade over a few days or weeks.
Eamonn told Best magazine last month about how he gets through the daily pain, explaining: ‘Swearing has got a bad reputation – which I personally think it doesn’t deserve.
‘I have to be honest, I like a swear or two or three… it makes me feel better. How can anyone deal with pain without swearing?
‘I have had a lot of pain over the past five or six years, so my swear box runneth over. I’m not saying it’s better than a couple of painkilling tablets, but it certainly has an initial short, sharp effect.’
As well as painkillers, the GB News presenter does daily exercises and sees a physiotherapist daily and visits a masseuse to help ease his symptoms.
