A stage production Declan Donnelly stunned pubgoers with a surprise performance before inviting everyone back to his mother’s house.
Dec, 46, went to The Badger in Ponteland, Northumberland, for New Year’s Eve celebrations and erupted into Billy Joel’s Piano Man.
Sorry to disappoint, but the I’m A Celeb presenter did not sing Let’s Get Ready to Rhumble, despite the absence of duet partner Ant McPartlin.
To the surprise of the intimate crowd, he took the lead on the 1973 ballad with local band The Optics on the tiny stage.
Reading lyrics from his phone, Dec , 48, grinned as he belted: ‘Now John at the bar is a friend of mine… He gets me my drinks for free…’
Posting the performance to the band’s Instagram, member Drew Conley wrote: ‘What a way to end the year.’
To make things even more memorable, guests were subsequently asked back to Dec’s mother’s house to continue the festivities.
According to The Sun, one partygoer said: ‘Dec was in on New Year’s Eve with his family. They seemed to be having a great time.
‘He is such a lovely person. Exactly like he is on TV. It was a fantastic atmosphere.’
Annie, the Limitless Win host’s mother, lives in the same council house where her renowned son grew up with his six siblings.
When he got famous, the PJ & Duncan star offered to help her trade her three-bedroom house for a larger one, but she rejected.
The doting son reportedly returns home a lot, with the source adding: ‘He comes here a lot. His sister also comes.
‘You could actually say Dec is a regular and he often sings on New Year’s Eve.’
He’s not returning to the region anytime soon, having recently acquired the house next door to his £7 million Chiswick residence.
The Saturday Night Takeaway star and his wife Ali Astall, 45, spent another £2.25 million on this property and have filed for planning permission to create a side and back expansion.
Dec lives in a London suburb with Ali and their two children, five-year-old Isla and one-year-old Jack.
