Chloe Madeley has responded to a hater who ostracised her for riding in a cab with her kid without a car seat.
In August of last year, the 35-year-old daughter of Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan gave birth to her first child with husband James Haskell.
Six-month-old Bodhi was seen sitting on the former England rugby player’s knee in the back of a cab, and one of Chloe’s fans was not pleased.
The discussion, which has now vanished probably because Chloe removed the post, begins with the woman asking, ‘Why isn’t your child in a car seat?! How irresponsible.’
The personal trainer replied: ‘Because it’s a taxi, look it up,’ to which the follower persisted: ‘Taxi or not – shame on you.’
Getting impatient, Chloe responded: ‘Understanding the law is not your forte. Do you think you’re more informed than the law?
‘How dare you insinuate that because we’re in a 10 minute taxi ride where legally our child under the age of 3 sits on our lap, that I’m a bad mother. You are the worst of us women. Go away. Get a grip. Get a life.’
Chloe was correct about the specifics, since the legislation stipulates that a kid under the age of three must travel with a car seat unless they are in a taxi, minicab, bus, coach, or van, having an emergency journey, or there is insufficient capacity in the vehicle for another car seat.
It is permissible for children under the age of three to travel without a car seat if they are in the back seat of a cab that does not supply the appropriate kid car seat.
In this case, children under the age of three are not required to wear a seatbelt.
Now that it’s out of the way, we can understand Chloe’s rage, which grew as she wrote more venomous remarks on social media.
On her Instagram story, the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here star continued: ‘Women who’ve never met me or my baby thinking they care more about her than I do never fails to shock and disgust me.
‘Rest assured I don’t make a safety conscious decision without first researching it (and getting multiple second opinions from friends and family).
‘Keep your side of the street clean and don’t worry about mine.’
But Chloe’s words caused further chaos, as another person commented: ‘It’s not about people thinking they care more about your baby than you. You are an influencer therefore should be sending responsible messaging, which until this moment you have.’
The media personality shared her full reply, she began with, ‘First of all I’m not an influencer’, before calling out the naysayers for being ‘vile, rude, unnecessary, wrong, and damaging’.
This comes after Chloe stated that she returned to work eight weeks after delivering birth since, despite the couple’s seeming success and her famous parents, they aren’t flush with wealth and don’t have a joint bank account.
Chloe also discussed how difficult it is for her to re-establish intimacy with her spouse after baby.
