Beyoncé has released the teaser for a film based on her Renaissance World Tour, and we are stunned.
The 42-year-old singer got the Beyhive buzzing this morning when she casually uploaded a trailer for her new film, ‘by Beyoncé,’ on social media. It’s not a huge deal.
The video, dubbed Renaissance: A video by Beyoncé, appears to offer a glimpse inside the enormous globe tour, which finished out last night at Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium.
Parkwood Entertainment and AMC Entertainment have announced that the picture will be released in North American theatres on December 1st.
Pre-sale tickets for US movie companies such as AMC, Regal, and Cinemark, which will all show the documentary, are now available. It is unclear when the film will be released in UK theatres such as Vue and Odeon.
Blue Ivy, Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s 11-year-old daughter, also features in the teaser, having surprised fans by coming on stage with her mother for the sold-out tour and busting some remarkable shapes. Just like you.
Now the world will get a backstage pass into the mother-daughter tour in this upcoming documentary film by the woman herself.
It isn’t clear where or when the film will be dropped yet outside the US, as pointed out by a very over-excited Australian comic Celeste Barber in the comments of the trailer.
‘WHEN? WHERE? HOW?’ she wrote, while rapper Yung Miami did some serious fangirling as she said: ‘BEYONCÉ THANK YOU QUEEN!!!!! THE INSPIRATION.’
It’s safe to assume that everyone is ecstatic. And for good reason: the trailer portrays the film as absolutely legendary and really powerful.
The atmospherically grainy teaser opens with Queen Bey blowing a chilly kiss to the camera before moving on to additional tour behind-the-scenes images, including a peek of brilliant Blue in rehearsals with her renowned mother.
‘When I am performing, I am nothing but free,’ Beyoncé can be heard saying in the voiceover.
The film appears to depict the highs and lows of the Renaissance tour, with one shot showing the Cuff It hitmaker appearing dejected in a facemask and another showing her storming into a helicopter looking usually ferocious.
‘The goal for this tour was to create a place where everyone is free and no one is judged,’ she continued, with footage of fans having a blast, crying, and hugging in the audience.
‘Unique,’ Bey continued. ‘Start over, start fresh, create the new. That’s what Renaissance is about.’
Meanwhile snappy footage of rehearsals, pre-show preparation, as well as a bustling stadium time-lapse can be seen, before the trailer launches into the show beginning.
‘We dress a certain way, we walk a certain way, we talk a certain way, we paint a certain way, we make love a certain way,’ Beyoncé’s empowering voiceover continued over the tour footage.
‘At any point they could close their eyes and be right back there and take it with them,’ Queen Bey continued, referring to the fans, before a quick montage of some of her most epic tour outfits and husband Jay-Z fangirling in the audience.
‘I feel liberated, I have transitioned into a new animal,’ Beyoncé declared in a stripped-back self-facing video taken on the road.
The title of the film, Renaissance, snaps on the screen and to end the trailer Beyoncé’s voice is heard saying: ‘All of those things that we do in a different, unique, specific way.’
‘A film by Beyoncé,’ it concluded, as the Single Ladies hitmaker captioned the post with: ‘Be careful what you ask for, ‘cause I just might comply.’
Well we can’t wait for this, whenever and wherever it may come. We’re ready, Bey!
