Bella Thorne has claimed a director accused her of flirting with him when she was a child.
The actress and model, 25, first rose to prominence in Disney Channel series Shake it Up, before going on to star in the likes of The Babysitter film franchise, The Duff and Famous in Love.
Having started out acting as a child, Bella has well over a decade of experience under her belt – and has now opened up about a shocking incident following an audition when she was 10 years old.
Bella made the comments on Emily Ratajkowski’s High Low podcast, in which celebrities discuss the highest and lowest points of their career.
Considering her low points, Bella recalled going for an audition when she was a young girl and getting ‘feedback’ from the director afterwards.
Looking extremely uncomfortable as she spoke, Bella said: ‘The director calls my agent and my agent calls my mom and they’re like, “She’s not moving forward because the director felt like she was flirting with him and it made him really uncomfortable.”‘
‘Oh my God, you were 10?’ Emily asked.
To which Bella continued, addressing the director: ‘What the f*** are you talking about man?!
‘I don’t give a f*** what the f*** I said, I don’t care if I said “Eat my p***y right now,” [I am] 10 years old.
‘Why ever would you think that? Why?’
Bella went on to say that in a ‘director session’ like she was doing at the time, ‘You walk in, you say hello, you do the scene, you walk out – there’s no time to be like “let me sit on your lap” or make you feel uncomfortable.
‘What the f*** are you talking about man?’ she repeated, adding it was ‘so insane.’
Bella has previously spoken about past traumas in her childhood and how she believes it contributes to the anxiety she experiences as an adult.
Earlier this year the actress and model appeared on Bill Maher’s podcast, where the 66-year-old insisted she had nothing to be anxious about as her generation ‘knows nothing’ about what’s ‘going on in the world’ and ‘everybody wants to be you.’
To which she responded: ‘I think that’s a very narrow kind of mindset in the way of trauma.
‘Everyone really has their trauma. What’s happening in Ukraine is unspeakable – that is something else.
‘But as far as trauma for every human being, I lost my dad when I was eight. I was molested growing up.’
She went on: ‘I went through s**t, everybody goes through s**t… any time we look at someone and go, “they have it all, they must be so f**king happy, you have nothing to complain about,” they’re still with their therapist every day, and they might have PSTD nightmares…that haunt their dreams.’”
