Alison Hammond has done her best Edward Cullen impression while making fun of comments about how young she appears.
The This Morning host, who is 47 years old, tweeted a video of herself miming along to the iconic Twilight scene in which Edward eventually admits to Bella that he is a vampire.
Alison, who was radiant as always, gave the camera a cheeky look as Bella asked, ‘How old are you?’
Alison managed to keep a straight face while responding to Edward with ’17.’
Twihards won’t need us to inform them that Bella then questioned Edward, ‘How long have you been 17?’ and he (or, in this case, Alison) replied, ‘A while.’
Alison captioned the image, ‘When people don’t believe how old you are,’ and several of her 1.2 million followers commented on how humorous they thought the video was.
Some people simply laughed, while others, including Lisa Snowdon and makeup artist Mikey Phillips, posted cry-laughing emojis.
Others were (once again) quick to remark that Alison looked years younger than she is, with one Instagrammer writing: ‘Just Googled how old you are! Fudging hell, you look so much younger.’
‘It’s true, you’re getting younger every day!’ exclaimed someone else, while another of Alison’s fans said: ‘You look so young.’
Veteran This Morning viewers will remember just how shocked fans of the show were last year when Alison mentioned her age on air.
After hearing Alison say that she was 47, people rushed to Twitter to comment on how youthful she looks, leaving comments like ‘Did Alison Hammond just say she’s 47? No way is she that old. Did she mean to say 37?’ and ‘How the hell is she 47?’
Let us not forget that Alison has been on our screens for the past 20 years, beginning with her appearance on Big Brother in 2002 as a young twenty-something.
Alison’s amusing video comes on the heels of reports that she is due to host her own panel show on Sky.
The adoring mother has apparently been offered a lucrative new post by ITV’s rival broadcaster, though it is unknown whether she would accept.
‘It remains to be seen if This Morning employers will give her a bigger income and a higher-profile job on the show to ensure she stays with them,’ a source told The Sun.
‘If not, the Sky show is unlikely to be the last tempting offer she receives.’
Alison was previously engaged by ITV to front a relaunch of Wheel Of Fortune, but the project was cancelled, and other broadcasters are now attempting to entice her away from ITV.
Alison starred on BBC1 series such as The Wheel and I Can See Your Voice last year, and she has entrenched herself as a fan favourite among This Morning fans since being named a permanent host alongside Dermot O’Leary in 2020.
