Thanks to TikTok, we now have a plethora of time-saving beauty hacks – from how to create the perfect ponytail to the quickest way to nail winged eyeliner every time.

Now there’s another trick that’s got people talking and it involves creating curls without the need for tongs or straighteners.

In fact, no heat is required at all.

So not only will it save you time, but it’ll cause less damage to your hair as well.

TikTok user Isabella Kate (@isabellakatee) has shared a video of herself curling her hair with an unlikely beauty cupboard staple – her hairbrush.

During the video, she can be seen tightly wrapping a piece of hair around the handle of the brush when it’s damp, before releasing the strand and unveiling a perfectly structured curl.

Her nifty hack has been viewed more than 24.7 million times and users have been quick to comment on the game-changing trick – with many stunned that they had no idea about it before.

One person replied saying: ‘So you are telling me I just paid $300 for a hairdryer and curler.’

‘If you have naturally curly hair this is a life changer,’ another said.

However others have pointed out a few problems with the technique – including that it probably won’t work on solely straight hair and that it could get stuck.

Someone else said: ‘It only works on certain hair types, don’t let these fool you.’

Another added: ‘I wrapped my hair around the bristles and it got stuck. Unfortunately I had to cut it.’

It’s also worth pointing out that this isn’t the only curling hack to come from the platform.

Other users have found various other ways to achieve curls without the need for tongs – including using the belt of a dressing gown and using a radiator pipe.

Of course, it goes without saying – as with any TikTok hack – please remember to be cautious with any DIY methods.
