Do you ever feel like your hairdresser is judging you?
Well, they might be.
A professional hairstylist has shared on TikTok what she really thinks about some of the things her clients do, and has revealed the things that really get under her skin.
From taking the cutting into their own hands, to moving her carefully positioned salon chair, hairdresser Sarah has shared the things you are doing which probably set tongues wagging when you go to the salon.
The number one no-no on Sarah’s list is cutting their own hair. Yes, sometimes clients will pick up the scissors while they’re in the chair and just stat snipping away.
Some clients also have a bad habit of using products without asking, even pocking their fingers into creams and serums.
Another issue is when people try to become as blonde as possible – at whatever cost.
‘[They will say] “I don’t care if it falls out. Don’t worry. I can handle a chemical burn. I wouldn’t tell anybody.”‘
Obviously, Sarah isn’t willing to risk that.
Something else Sarah hates is when clients try to steal someone’s appointment – that’s just poor salon etiquette.
And she revealed how some cheeky people requested refunds claiming ‘the colour had faded’ and ‘it has lost shape’ – despite having had their appointment months previous.
‘I look homeless,’ said one woman – failing to mention her hair appointment was a year ago.
Sarah also said she was really not a fan of people who interrupted her mid-cut – you’ve got to let your hairdresser finish.
Finally, some customers were incredibly rude if Sarah couldn’t help them magically transform shades – even if the change they requested was physically impossible in one appointment.
One said: ‘We had a woman lock herself in the bathroom for 30 minutes because she didn’t believe us when we said it would only take five to 10 minutes. Her hair burnt.’
