Sir Rod Stewart is not afraid to roll his sleeves up and get stuck in, especially when it comes to the all-important task of serving thirsty punters their pints.
The Maggie May singer hopped behind the bar to give a helping hand at a Glasgow pub on Sunday, after watching his football team Celtic’s Old Firm Derby match with rivals Rangers earlier that day.
Dressed up in Celtic’s colours of white and green, with a green sweater vest over a white shirt and his green and white striped tie undone around his neck, there was no doubt which side the musician was on.
A photo snapped by The Dirty Duchess pub and shared to Instagram showed Sir Rod leaning over the taps on the serving side of the bar, engaged in conversation, as he helped pull pints.
‘Great to have spare bartender Rod ‘the mod’ Stewart tonight!,’ the caption read, adding the hashtags ‘#discoshifter #rodstewart #mondown’.
Fans were delighted by the slightly unexpected turn of events, with many sharing their annoyance at missing out in the comments.
‘Can’t believe I missed this legend. Next time Rod ,’ wrote one, while another posted: ‘Can’t believe I missed this!’
That’s not the only helping hand that the chart-topper is recently said to have given.
According to reports, Sir Rod stepped into the breach for his 10-year-old son Aiden’s football team, turning the pitch at his mansion into their official training ground after they lost theirs during Covid.
It won’t be said the man doesn’t take football seriously.
A big supporter of his son’s under-12s team, the Junior Hoops, he’s previously been filmed giving them a stirring pep-talk.
Sir Rod has eight children altogether – Sarah, 58, Kimberly, 42, Sean, 41, Ruby, 34, Renee, 29, Liam, 27, Alistair, 15, and Aiden,10.
He’s married to Penny Lancaster, 51, who he shares his youngest two sons with.
